what kinda tools dya need to get started building?

I don't think these robots will be taking over the world anytime soon! am still working on self replication though! Wink

If you want to get started in building I suggest you get your hands on the following:

Solder Iron - 25W or higher (new solder doesn't contain Lead, so needs decent wattage to melt it)

Solder (of course!)

Spool of wire.... single core is best I find (thats one solid core. not loads of strands)

Wire clippers and strippers

small pliers... especially some needle nose

A multimeter is very useful, but for beginning its not essential

All that and some components should get you started! You should be able to get it all for less than £30..... I would also then invest in:

A handyman holder.... moveable crocodile clips on a heavy stand to hold things while you solder.

Solder Iron Stand With sponge- invaluable really!
